Tyntesfield (National Trust)
Book by 26 November
(Booking opens for non members of Arts Association on 14 September)
Christmas at Tyntesfield is something different. The Victorian Gothic building is decorated for the season and visitors are welcomed to join the festivities. No details as yet for this year but look on their website for last year’s celebrations. Already it is getting booked up so a visit has been reserved as we do not want to miss out. Last year professional actors re-enacted a Victorian Christmas house party and I was assured that special plans are being made for this year.
This house, still being restored, built for the Gibbs family, who made their money from guano, is a very interesting one. There are also grounds with walled garden, gift shop, restaurant and café.
Coach cost is £12 for Arts Association Members, or £14 for non-members. Entrance is £14.60, or free for National Trust Members, who only have to pay for the coach.
